- 3 cups all purpose flour
- ¾ cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 pinch salt*
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1½ cups sour milk**
- ½ cup butter melted
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup dried cranberries***
- ½ cup finely chopped almonds
*If you use unsalted butter then add ¼ teaspoon of salt.
**To the 1 1/2 cups of milk add 1 1/2 tablespoons of lemon juice, let sit 20 minutes before using. Stir to combine.
***In a medium bowl add the dried cranberries, cover with boiling water and let sit 15-20 minutes. Drain well before using.
