Dates  All Purpose Flour Baking Powder Baking Soda Salt Butter Brown Sugar Egg Vanilla Extract

Step 1

Add dates and water to a pot and simmer until dates are soft. Blend dates and any remaining water.

In a medium sized bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, soda and salt until no lumps remain.

Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla and then date puree. Add flour mix on and combine.

Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 30-35 minutes.

In a small pot add the butter, add 1 cup cream, the brown sugar and salt  whisking until the mix bubbles and forms a smooth mixture.

Step 6

In a bowl make your whipped cream. Gently fold in half the sauce. Spread over the warmish cake. Cut and drizzle with the remaining sauce.
