Steak and Guinness Mini Pies

All Purpose Flour Salt Black Pepper Steak  Vegetable Oil Beef Stock Shallots Mushrooms Tomato paste Thyme Guinness Stout  Puff Pastry  Egg Yolk

Step 1

Coat steak in the flour mixture and then cook in a skillet in oil. When done,  transfer the meat to a large pot.

Add more oil to the skillet and cook shallots and mushrooms until soft.

Add the mushrooms and shallots to the pot with meat, then add tomato paste, thyme, Guinness and beef stock. Simmer for 1½ hours.

When your beef is tender, drain the meat mixture in a strainer set over a bowl, reserving the liquid. Cool completely.

Step 5

Divide meat mix and liquid between ramekins or bowls. Top with puff pastry and make slashes on top of the dough. Brush with egg yolk.

Step 6

Place your pies onto a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes at 425F. After 20 minutes reduce the heat to 400 F and bake for another 5 minutes.
